About Huntsman Pigments

Huntsman Pigments is a leading global producer of titanium dioxide pigments. Our TIOXIDEŽ brand name is recognized all over the world. We employ 2,600 people world-wide, and have factories in eight countries with a combined total capacity of approxinately 550,000 tonnes a year.

Titanium dioxide pigments provide whiteness and opacity to a vast range of everyday products from coatings and plastics, to inks and even cosmetics and food.

To produce the pigment we process a raw material rich in titanium from minerals found in beach sands and rock. This feedstock is treated to extract the titanium and then reform it as titanium dioxide to a very closely defined particle size. Finally the product is coated and milled to produce a range of versatile pigments for key end uses. We are committed to continually improve our environmental performance and in 1993 set up the Materials Business with the primary aim of converting all the co-product arising from pigment manufacture into saleable products. Our co-products are used mainly in agriculture, water treatment and construction, but are also widely sold in the animal feed, chemicals, beverage and paper industries. The Materials Business has a portfolio of thirty different products and has sales in excess of one million tonnes.
